Linsha Prakashan, Co-Founder
After finishing her Masters of Science in Microbiology from Mumbai University by studying the antimicrobial effect of silver nanoparticles in 2015, Linsha took a bold step career-wise by joining education start-up Techshiksha in its nascent stage where she has been working since 2012.A bonafide go-getter, thrilled to work, she honed the art of multitasking that is required to run a startup and has played an integral role in the growth of the company as Director of Operations of Techshiksha, who are now the makers of the famous Robotics education kit named Witblox. Linsha has been taking home-classes along with her mom since she learnt to read and study, earning loads of love and gratitude from many students as the friendly Linsha Teacher, who made their lives easy by blowing away boredom and making studies enjoyable. Her volunteering experience at Aarambh, Turbhe as experimental science teacher for students from marginalized background made her clearly see the blatant inequality in the quality of science education between vernacular medium schools and international schools, and all the more hurdles that girls from these communities had to face compared to their wealthier counterparts.
Jogitha Kanapally, Co founder
Jogitha has been working in the social service sector for nearly 4 years after completing her Master of Science in Environmental Science. Working closely with the warli tribe in Maharashtra for two years she started her work with migrants and underprivileged people in Turbhe slums. She holds a Gender and Diversity Training certification from the Xavier Institute of Social Sciences, Ranchi. In 2016 she was invited by the Indonesian government to the World Culture Forum (A UN level 8 forum), Bali, to represent India. One of the pledges made during the forum was the Youth Action Plan: Culture for an Inclusive Sustainable Planet. Having seen first-hand the problems of hunger, poverty, affecting the tribals, minorities and dalits Jogitha wants to increase her scope of impact for India’s grassroots-level communities. She believes science education, logical reasoning, mindfulness and awareness about political and social issues can lead to a better society. Science Didi for her is an avenue to meet people who are willing to learn and hopefully learn something herself.
